Trash Area Optimization & Design
Right-size and reposition your waste areas using real service data (capacity, placement, access and flow) before anyone pours concrete.

Redesigning how the waste area works
Green Glove Heroes analyzes and redesigns how waste areas work at multifamily properties across Northern California, looking at container capacity and mix, enclosure placement, resident access, service vehicle flow, and security. Optimization is the planning stage. We work out what your property needs before anything is built, and often that means no construction at all.
Optimization before construction
Rebuilding an enclosure in the wrong place or at the wrong size is the most expensive way to keep the same problem. We optimize first, looking at what the property generates, where residents walk, where the truck can turn, and what the city requires, and we only build if you need it. Enclosure Design & Build Coordination
What we analyze
We look at how much each stream fills, day by day, and hold that up against your container counts, sizes, and where the overflow keeps happening. How far is the walk from each building entrance to the trash, recycling, and organics? We check that too, along with the hauler's access (turning radius, gate clearance) and whether the lighting and sightlines line up with where people dump. Everything has to meet your jurisdiction's container and signage rules.
The advantage of already being on-site
Our porters are in every container on your property six days a week, so there's no study to run. We already know which enclosure overflows on Sundays and which corner gets a mattress every month, and the design comes straight from that record. Proof of service
Often the answer needs no construction
The fix might be swapping a container, moving a cart thirty feet, adding a gate, or changing how often pickups happen. Many trash area problems are solved without a permit, and we'll tell you when that's the case.
When it does take construction
If you need a build, we specify what the enclosure needs and coordinate the licensed general contractor who builds it and handles the permits, because Green Glove Heroes is not a contractor.
Keeping service running during work
A repaving job can shut down the trash area for days, sometimes weeks, and so can an enclosure rebuild or a building renovation. We set up a temporary trash area with your hauler, so pickups don't stop while the work goes on.
What the building code asks for
CALGreen, California's green building code, requires multifamily housing with five or more units to provide readily accessible areas for recycling and organics that serve the whole building. Every city and county has to adopt and enforce it, and your city's version can be stricter, so we design to the version your jurisdiction enforces. CalRecycle: CALGreen and organics
Questions
The giveaway is overflow before pickup day that doesn't stop even after you add service. You'll also see containers parked outside the enclosure, and residents walking right past recycling to get to the trash.
Size it to measured volume and put it on the resident's path with all three streams together, gated and lit, where the hauler's truck can reach it.
Often you don't. Changing the container mix, placement, or pickup frequency often solves it, and we'll tell you when a rebuild is the right answer.
We use our own daily service record on your property, hauler pickup data, and your jurisdiction's requirements.
Yes. We coordinate a temporary trash area with your hauler for the length of the work.
Under CALGreen, multifamily housing with five or more units has to provide readily accessible recycling and organics areas that serve the whole building. Your city enforces it and can add its own standards.
Yes. We design in your city's or county's standards for container counts, organics, signage, and enclosures. City & county coordination
