Customized Recycling Programs

A recycling program shaped to your property's residents, layout, hauler and jurisdiction, not a standard package applied to a non-standard building.

Recycling built around your residents

Green Glove Heroes designs recycling programs around each multifamily property's residents, building layout, container access, hauler, and jurisdiction. Standard programs fail in multifamily because the things that decide whether a program works are different at every property, especially where the containers sit and who walks past them. We custom-design every solution so you get the right blend of service and Green Glove support for your property's unique needs.

Why a standard program doesn't transfer

What works at a 40-unit garden property falls apart at a 300-unit mid-rise with chute rooms. Neither setup works at a senior community where nobody's carrying anything downstairs. So the containers, where they sit, the signage, and the training have to fit the building and the people who live in it.

What gets customized

We pick the stream mix and container counts, and decide where containers go building by building (floor by floor if you have chute rooms). Signs go up in the languages your residents read, using your city's materials. Pickup frequency gets set stream by stream, and we spell out what our porters do on each visit and where bulk and e-waste go.

Start from the resident's path

If the recycling cart is farther than the trash, the program has already decided what residents will do, so we design from the resident's walk to the enclosure.

And from your jurisdiction

Your city sets what goes where and what signage is required, along with how it's enforced. We build the program to those rules, so compliance doesn't turn into a separate project. City & county coordination

Then it gets run and adjusted

Our porters run the program six days a week and tell us what's working. We adjust it as the property changes, since everything from regulations to technology keeps changing and evolving.

How a program gets built

We start with a complimentary on-site visit, where we look at what the property generates and where the containers sit. We also look at how residents walk to them and check what your hauler and city require. We build the proposal from that, covering streams, container sizes, pickup frequency, bulk, and compliance. Hauler approval and implementation usually take 30 to 60 days, then about 30 more to dial the system in.

Training that matches the program

Residents learn the program from your city's or hauler's zero-waste coordinator, who uses your jurisdiction's own materials. We coordinate the session and speak to what our crews do on-site. When the property runs its own events, we support them with a table and city flyers. Training & Resident Support

Questions

The things that decide whether residents recycle correctly (distance, access, signage, and building type) differ at every property, and standard setups are designed for an average building that doesn't exist.

We build it from your property's measured volume, layout, resident traffic, hauler equipment, and city rules, and then we adjust it based on what our porters see on-site.

You should plan on about 90 days for the full program to settle.

Your city's or hauler's zero-waste coordinator trains them with your jurisdiction's materials, and we coordinate the session and speak to what our crews do.

We price it after we've seen the property, so the proposal comes after the on-site visit.

We keep the same standards across the portfolio and customize the program at each property, which is how the North Bay affordable housing portfolio runs 65+ properties with one partner.
