Contamination cleared by hand

Green Glove Heroes decontaminates waste areas at multifamily properties across Northern California by hand-sorting contaminating material out of each stream and removing it. We don't introduce any chemicals to your property, and our daily sorting services don't use chemicals at all. Contamination is what triggers hauler fees and city notices, along with resident complaints, so we remove it before it turns into any of those.

What contamination means here

Contamination is any material that ends up in the wrong stream, like a plastic bag in the recycling, food in the trash where organics collection is required, cardboard in the organics cart, or a mattress leaning on the enclosure gate. Each one is a fee waiting for a camera, and together they're the reason a trash area gets away from a property.

Decontamination is how we put that right, so on every visit, Sunday through Friday, we pull the contaminants and anything else that doesn't belong, and we reset the streams.

Removed by hand, with nothing introduced

Our porters sort by hand, and that's our whole method. We don't spray or apply anything, and we don't bring anything new onto your property. Only the contamination leaves, either on our trucks if it's bulk or e-waste or into the correct stream where it belongs.

We don't touch oil, paint, light bulbs, blood, needles, or any liquid or gas that requires specially licensed vehicles. When our team finds it, we separate it so it doesn't contaminate the main waste stream. Then we tell your maintenance staff what we found and point them to the correct licensed facility for proper disposal. Decontamination here means sorting waste by hand, and it doesn't cover mold, medical waste, or spill cleanup. Those need a licensed specialist.

When a waste area has gotten away from a property

We've walked into properties after a change of management or a vendor who stopped showing up, and into enclosures where the compactor had been down for a month. The first visit is a reset where we clear the enclosure, re-establish the streams, remove the bulk, and photograph all of it. After that it stays that way, because somebody is there six days a week.

If the enclosure floor is stained and the smell has set in, we offer professional pressure washing and odor mitigation for any type of trash enclosure. Our washing contractor does that work, with no cleaning chemicals. Enclosure Power Washing

Then fix what caused it

When contamination comes back every week, we treat it as a design problem with the program. After the reset we look at what's causing it, whether that's the container mix, where the containers sit, the signage, or a compactor that hides everything until it's on the truck. That's when we bring in custom program design and trash area optimization, and we pair those with resident training.

Decontamination questions

It means hand-sorting contaminating material out of a property's streams (trash, recycling, and organics) and removing it, along with any bulk and dumped items around the enclosure. At Green Glove Heroes we do it on every daily visit.

No, our daily sorting services don't use any chemicals, and we don't introduce anything to your property. When an enclosure needs pressure washing, our washing contractor does it.

It's anything in the wrong stream, like plastic bags in recycling, food in the trash where organics are required, cardboard in organics, or bulk items in or around the containers.

We hand-sort every day before pickup, and we size and place the containers so residents can use them correctly. We also put up signage that matches your city's rules and deliver resident training with your city's or hauler's zero-waste team.

We set it apart from the main stream first. After that we let your maintenance staff know and point them to the correct licensed facility, because we don't handle or remove that material ourselves.

No. We don't apply or spray anything, so nothing is left behind. Our porters move the contamination by hand into the right stream.

We schedule a contractor for it. They carry their own insurance and use no cleaning chemicals. Saturdays are available.
